Scenario Plans for Phoenix Dance Studio Together (in-person instruction)

Our Scenario Planning: Despite many uncertainties about the future, Phoenix Dance Studio will continue to provide the very best in dance education and celebrate our Inaugural 200-2021 with our dance family! The Phoenix Dance Studio team has planned multiple scenarios that will allow us to provide the safest in-person dance experience for our families. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Phoenix Dance Studio team has relied on the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Maricopa County Department of Public Health recommendations regarding operations. We will continue to evaluate such information and make informed decisions that uphold our standards while focusing on the health and well being of our dance family. Our operational framework will evolve as additional information is released over the coming months.

Our Baseline Standards:

● Staff members will self assess at home for symptoms, consider if they have been exposed to illness, and consider if they have traveled within the past 14 days; Staff members will be temperature screened upon arrival at Phoenix Dance Studio

● Parents will assess their dancer at home for symptoms, consider if they have been exposed to illness, and consider if they have traveled within the past 14 days; Dancers will be temperature screened upon arrival at Phoenix Dance Studio

● Masks will be required for all dancers & staff outside of the classroom

● Students and staff must be fever/symptom free 72-hours (without medication) before returning to dance (fever is considered a temperature above 100.4)

● Students and staff must stay home if COVID-19 symptoms or any illness symptoms occur

● Students and staff exposed to an individual testing positive for COVID-19 must self-quarantine 14 days or provide a negative covid test before returning to dance; and notify the Phoenix Dance Studio office.

Our Planning Assumptions:

● The pandemic will remain prevalent in our community as dance begins in the fall and throughout the coming season

● Phoenix Dance Studio will open on November 2, 2020 with soft opening starting October 26, 2020.

● Phoenix Dance Studio operations will likely be disrupted at some point during the course of the year, either by a state/local directive or by an outbreak of COVID-19 in our community

● Though in-person instruction is preferred, we will develop and deliver solutions to provide virtual resources and instruction that will provide value and normalcy to our students in the event of a closure

● Should Phoenix Dance Studio need to close for an extended period of time due to Covid-19, tuition will be adjusted according to instruction provided

● We will work meticulously to protect the health and well-being of our dance family

Our Environmental Safeguards:

● The application of commercial grade antimicrobial products (Protechs) to heavy touch/high traffic areas which prevents bacteria from living on surfaces for 3 months.  This unique non-migrating antimicrobial technology works 24/7 to create a semi-permanent bond, so parents and faculty can dance comfortably knowing the PDS is working around the clock to protect our dancers.

● Touchless hand sanitizer stations throughout all studio buildings

● HVAC adjustments including upgrading filters and increasing outside fresh air flow in accordance with ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers) as recommended by our HVAC contractor

● Signage at all entrances asking those with COVID-19-like symptoms or specific exposures to not enter the building, as well as a statement informing individuals that they assume the risk of potential exposure to the Coronavirus (or other public health risk)

● Signage and/or environmental markers to encourage social distancing

● Increased and enhanced disinfection procedures daily using EPA approved cleaning products in accordance with CDC guidelines and industry's best practices

Our Employee Expectations:

● All staff members will abide by specific health/safety staff policies outlined by Phoenix Dance Studio

● Staff members will be required to notify Phoenix Dance Studio administration if they are directly exposed or have tested positive for Covid-19 and will be required to provide a negative test result before returning to work.

*Transparency and communication of this information is essential for the safety of the Phoenix Dance Studio family: dancers, staff, parents

● All staff members are required to wear a mask at all times except when they’re in the classroom inside of their personal dance space.

● All employees will complete a daily, self-screening prior to reporting to the dance studio and will be temperature screened upon arrival

● Employees returning to work after being out sick (due to any illness) will be symptom free (without medication) for 72 hours

● Instruction will be contactless for the foreseeable future, all instruction will be delivered verbally

Our Family Expectations:

● All parents/dancers will complete a daily, self-screening prior to reporting to the dance studio and will be temperature screened upon arrival and the front door under the CHECK IN/WELLNESS TENT!

● All dancers are required to wear a mask and at all times except when they’re in the classroom inside of their personal dance space if they choose to.

● Parents will be required to notify Phoenix Dance Studio administration if they are directly exposed or have tested positive for Covid-19 and will be required to provide clearance from a medical professional before returning to the classroom.

*Transparency and communication of this information is essential for the safety of the Phoenix Dance Studio family: dancers, staff, parents

● Parents will not allow a sick child to participate in person; students must be symptom free without medication for 72 hours prior to returning to in person class

Our Considerations for Non-Participants:

● Non-participants will not be allowed in the studio; with the exception of preschool parents during the first 2 weeks of registered classes. These parents will be allowed to drop their dancer at their classroom door if the parent is wearing a mask and is screened with a temperature check

● Phoenix Dance Studio lobby will be closed; non participants (parents, babysitters, siblings etc will not be allowed to wait inside of our studio buildings.

Considerations for Closure:

● Phoenix Dance Studio will follow all directives implemented by local government

● Phoenix Dance Studio will follow CDC guidelines if there should be an outbreak

● Phoenix Dance Studio will remain committed to providing normalcy to our students regardless of our circumstances

Considerations for Positive Case(s) of Covid-19:

● Phoenix Dance Studio will notify our parents and students if a Phoenix Dance Studio Staff members and/or family members tests positive for Covid-19

● Phoenix Dance Studio will notify our parents and students if a student tests positive for Covid-19

● Communication of this information will be limited to written email notification that a student or teacher in your child’s class has tested positive for Covid-19 and you may have been exposed

*Transparency and communication of this information is essential for the safety of the Phoenix Dance Studio family: dancers, staff, parents. All staff and families are required to notify Phoenix Dance Studio immediately to ensure that we can notify all members about Phoenix Dance Studio who may have been exposed.
